Illamasqua Fall 2011 nail polish - Theatre of the Nameless Collection

L-R: Faux Pas, Kink, Taint, Vice

Illamasqua has come out with a really neat collection for the fall.  The Theatre of the Nameless collection.  There are four autumn-esque colors, but that is not what makes these interesting...the really unique thing about this particular collection is the finish of the polishes.  Illamasqua calls it a "rubber" finish...somewhere between glossy and matte.  All of the polishes in this collection dry to this satin finish.  It literally looks like the colors are pieces of thin rubber stretched over the nails...very interesting, indeed.

All of the polishes are smooth, easy to apply and opaque in two coats.

Faux Pas, described by Illamasqua as a blue, violet, is a medium vibrant, yet dusty purple, with some blue undertones.  For all you purple lovers, this is a definite must have.

Kink, described by Illamasqua as a bottle green, is a nice medium hunter green, also with some blue to it. This one is also unique, not only for it's finish, but also for this color.  It is not a deep dark hunter green where it would look almost black.  This one definitely looks green.

Taint (lovely name, by the way) is described by Illamasqua as a stone brown.  This is also a medium chocolate-y brown with the same "rubber" finish.  It looks like melted milk chocolate to me.

Lastly, Vice...described by Illamasqua as a deep cerise.  That it definitely is...a dark pinkish red.  Did you know that cerise is French for cherries.  Therefore, your fingernails are the color of cherries.  As pretty as that sounds, this was not a favorite color of mine.  But, that is my own personal preference.  The color applied beautifully, so if this is your "cup of tea...or cherries", then grab it.
