My Halloween Nails - Sally Hansen's "Numbskull" nail strips
For Halloween I'm wearing the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips in Numbskull. If you've never used nail polish strips, they are pretty easy to apply. They come in a variety of colors and patterns. They're supposed to last unto 10 days. I've worn other patterns in the past and worn them anywhere from five to seven days...I usually get bored by then and need to change my nails, anyway...lol. It does take a little practice, but, ultimately you'll have nails that don't need to dry. Each package of strips includes different sizes and you just have to pick out the ones that will fit each nail, apply the strip to the nail and file away the excess. Super easy!
Numbskull is a black bones and skeleton head design on a white background. Very Halloween-y! So, here they are.
What do you guys think of the Halloween mani? Did you do a special manicure for today?
Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips can be found at all drugstores and retail anywhere from $9.00-$12.00.

Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear It for the Boy comparisons
Happy Sunday everybody. We're recovering from the snow we received yesterday in New York.
Today's post was requested by a reader and I'm so glad that I'm able to do a comparison for Deborah Lippmann's Let's Hear It for the Boy. I checked out my collection and came up with three other light blues that I can analyze. The other colors are Hard Candy Sky, Essie Borrowed and Blue and Revlon Blue Lagoon.
| Top-Bottom: Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear It for the Boy, Hard Candy Sky, Essie Borrowed and Blue and Revlon Blue Lagoon. |

OPI Muppets Collection Warm & Fozzie nail polish
With New York expecting over a foot of snow today, Warm and Fozzie is perfect, it is an awesome color from the OPI Muppets Collection. It would be a great autumn color, if it weren't for the impending snowstorm. A wonderful warm shimmer full of gold, copper and rust colored particles. As with most OPI polishes, this was a breeze to apply. Opaque in two coats.
OPI Warm and Fozzie and the entire OPI Muppets Collection is available at beauty retailers for around $8.00.

nails inc. Trafalgar Square and Houses of Parliament magnetic polish photos
Sephora has recently started carrying nails, inc nail polishes and they have fabulous colors. Most recently though, nails inc. introduced two new magnetic polishes in Trafalgar Square and Houses of Parliament.
The top cap, that comes off, houses a magnetic strip that creates the design. The application process isn't complicated. The first coat is applied and allowed to dry, then one nail at a time, the second coat is applied. The magnetic cap is held over the wet second coat to create the V-pattern. The polish itself dries super fast and a topcoat makes the colors super shiny. I am completely IN LOVE with these polishes, especially Houses of Parliament. The pictures do not do these polishes justice. The chevron design isn't all that nails inc. magnetic polishes offers. Once the polish dries, it almost has a "cat-eye" effect. The pattern seems to "move" across your nail as you move you hand. It is definitely a very unique effect. A must see in person.
Trafalgar Square is described as a "chrome" colored polish. It is a dark gray shimmer.
Houses of Parliament is simply described as "purple". It is a greyed out eggplant purple.
nails inc. Trafalgar Square and Houses of Parliament is available at Sephora and at www.sephora.com for $16.00 each.

China Glaze Metro Collection for Fall 2011 - Skyscraper, Midtown Magic and CG in the City
China Glaze's Fall Metro Collection is composed of 12 colors, six in the "uptown" part and six in the "downtown" part. Today, I have one from "uptown" and two from "downtown".
CG in the City is a part of the "uptown" half. It is a densely packed clear polish with sliver, brown and purple glitter. You can either wear this on it's own by building it up or it can be worn over other colors.

China Glaze Skyscraper is a part of the "downtown" series and is a deep blue with loads of sliver glitter. Pretty.

Midtown Magic is a rich brown with gold and bronze colored glitter. This was my favorite and my fall-esque.

Zoya Bela nail polish swatches
Happy Pink Wednesday!
Let's have a look at Zoya Bela. Bela is most famous for "starring" in "Black Swan" with Natalie Portman. Below is a shot from a scene in "Black Swan". There it is, sitting there on the vanity, in all it's glory.

Picture property of Fox Searchlight
Zoya Bela is a pale creamy "ballerina" pink. I used three coats and it's mostly opaque. It's a nice everyday conservative pink. Another alternative to other pale pinks.
Zoya Bela is available at www.zoya.com for $8.00.

Nite Owl is a beautiful taupe-y sand color with silver shimmer. It is quite pretty. A nice twist on nude.
Sea Gurl is a gorgeous pewter colored shimmer polish. It's not as cool as the other dark grey metallic/shimmers out there for fall 2011.
Fowl Play is the superstar for me. It is a dark purple jelly polish with multi-colored flakie and regular glitter. I love this one.
